AERMOR is seeking a Web Developer – Database Administrator to design, code, and document application programs for scientific systems and commercial projects. The candidate will be responsible for web development, database administration, and system optimization, supporting both internal and external NSWC PCD web pages. This role requires expertise in Microsoft SQL Server management, database security, and web architecture, ensuring compliance with STIGs and security best practices.


Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop architecture, design, and enhancements for NSWC PCD internal and external web pages.
  • Implement additional capabilities and features for web functionality.
  • Maintain web page content, updating entries and ensuring submission compliance.
  • Perform regular maintenance, including removal of stale pages and fixing faulty URL links.
  • Maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Apply STIGs to databases and servers for security compliance.
  • Develop backup and recovery plans using full, differential, and transaction log files.
  • Perform query optimization and utilize the tuner tool within SQL platforms.
  • Design, implement, and manage databases, schemas, and associated objects.
  • Utilize Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for database management and optimization.
  • Work with Atlassian’s Jira for bug tracking, issue tracking, and agile project management.
  • Use Microsoft SQL Management Studio for database management.
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure Cloud Studio for cloud-based development and database integration.
  • Manage source code repositories with Atlassian’s BitBucket (Git-based version control).

Required Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • 5+ years of experience and must possess one of the following certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNP, CISSP, CISA, GCED, or GCIH.
  • Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL, with expertise in: Logical and physical database design, Data Definition Language (DDL), Data Manipulation Language (DML), Data Control Language (DCL), Transaction Control Language (TCL).
  • Experience with SQL-based platforms, including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and DB2.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and cloud-based development.
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
  • Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting for database and system automation.

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Experience in SharePoint development and training.
  • Strong understanding of STIG compliance for database security.
  • Familiarity with agile development environments and DevOps best practices.
