The selected candidate will apply advanced engineering principles and practical problem-solving skills to evaluate, test, and verify performance compliance of systems—particularly U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems.

The selected candidate will apply advanced engineering principles and practical problem-solving skills to evaluate, test, and verify performance compliance of systems—particularly U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute quality control (QC) and assurance processes for engineering products, test specimens, and systems under development.
- Ensure that all products, services, and fabrication methods conform to applicable engineering, safety, and operational standards.
- Conduct hands-on testing, inspection, and validation of U.S. Navy Navigation systems and supporting components.
- Review and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and technical drawings; provide feedback and recommendations to improve design quality.
- Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to develop and construct test specimens, models, and prototypes.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) tools to prepare shop drawings and documentation supporting system and model construction.
- Evaluate material specifications and fabrication methods to ensure compliance with project and safety requirements.
- Support system-level testing and evaluation, performance verification, and failure analysis activities.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement, identifying and mitigating quality risks across design and manufacturing stages.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, reinforcing best practices in engineering quality control and safety assurance.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of professional experience in engineering or technical fields focused on solving complex technical problems.
- Hands-on experience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including at least three of the following four areas: Systems requirements, operational requirements, test & evaluation, and training.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, methods, and industry-standard testing techniques.
- Proven ability to ensure product, process, and service quality and safety compliance.
- Experience conducting performance testing and process validation for engineering or manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering plans, blueprints, and material specifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication techniques and construction of test specimens or models.
